If you are like most of us here at Kessler Alair Insurance - you work hard to play hard. For many of us, filling our weekends with fun family activities is first priority when we clock out on Friday evening. June is finally here and we can't wait to start having more fun in the sun! Having our offices located in Newport Beach, Rancho Cucamonga and Upland California gives us a wide variety of events to choose from. Of course one of the best things about Southern California is the fact that you can go snowboarding in the morning and sit on the beach to watch the sunset all in the same day. 

Whether you are in the Inland Empire or in Orange County and you are looking for a great thing to do this month here are a few ideas: 

What to do in the Upland and Rancho Cucamonga Area 

June 21 – 24 – Valverde School of Performing Arts Forces of Nature Summer Showcase 2018 - Enjoy performances of Dance, Music and Drama in honor of Mother Nature. Valverde School of Performing Arts Annual Summer Showcase "Forces of Nature" will be an entertaining acknowledgment of the beauty of the Earth, Space, Sky & the awesomeness of Weather, Seasons, and Forces beyond control. June 16 – Aquarium of the Pacific – Parent and Me Penguins – from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. Located at 100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, CA. Waddle, migrate, and feed like a penguin! During this 1 ½ hour program, you and your child will: 

* Touch invertebrates in our private classroom touch pool

June 7 – Literary Salon and Open Mic – 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Mother Goose on the Loose. Mondays at 12:00 pm at the Biane Library in Rancho Cucamonga. This is a fun, fast-paced story time geared for children ages 0-3 years and is filled with rhymes, songs, lap-bouncers, movement, and of course classic Mother Goose rhymes. Walk-ins welcome. Fontana Community Senior Center – Monday through Friday 7:00 am – 8:00 pm. Located at 16710 Ceres Ave., Fontana, CA. The Fontana Community Senior Center is designed to cater to community members that are 55 years of age and older. Inside this beautiful two-story, 43,000+ square-foot center, there are many rooms that meet and exceed the needs of Fontana's seniors. Every Saturday in June – Michaels Kid's Club – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm – at Rancho Cucamonga at the Terra Vista Town Center in Rancho Cucamonga. Kids 3 and up are invited. $2 or $5 per project. They craft, you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a quick project and take home a finished masterpiece. June 7 – Modern Calligraphy Workshop at Seaside Gallery – From 10:30 am – 12:30 pm. Located at Seaside Gallery and Goods, 124 Tustin Ave. Suite 100 in Newport Beach. Instructor - Kristen Khan - Inchanted Paper & Designs. The modern calligraphy class is for those who have no prior experience or for those who are looking to further refine their skills. June 9 – Tidepooling at Crystal Cove State Park – From 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. Located at: 8471 N Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, CA. Enjoy a low tide at Crystal Cove State Park where a volunteer will lead a guided tidepool walk to Pelican Point and help identify animals and describe some awesome adaptations. June 16 – Newport Beach Art Exhibition – From 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Located at 100 Civic Center Drive in Newport Beach. The Newport Beach City Arts Commission is proud to present the 54th Annual Newport Beach Art Exhibition at the Newport Beach Civic Center on Saturday, June 16 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The one-day juried event features over 250 works of art, including painting, mixed media, sculpture and photography. June 17 – Concerts on the Green, Matt Mauser, a Celebration of the Music of Frank Sinatra – From 6:00 – 7:30 pm. Located at: 100 Civic Center Drive in Newport Beach. The City of Newport Beach presents its annual Concerts on the Green summer series featuring an array of performers for your entertainment. Visitors are encouraged to bring their beach chairs and blankets for an evening of fun. Attendance and parking are free! June 24 – Concerts in the Park – at Huntington Beach Central Park – FREE – Starts at 5:00 pm - Bring out your lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic blankets behind the library for this Huntington Beach tradition. The HB Concert Band hosts a free eleven-week series featuring various music groups, like concert bands, Latin bands, and hot swinging big bands. May 7 – July 6 - "Behind the Brushstrokes" - Paintings by James Strombotne - The Newport Beach City Arts Commission presents an exhibition of paintings by re-known artist James Strombotne, who will be making a return visit to the Newport Beach Central Library gallery. Since his first one-man show in 1956, James Strombotne has captivated audiences with his provocative paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture. Strombotne Studio is the official online site for this nationally recognized American artist. James Strombotne's resume includes over 100 one-man shows including 14 retrospectives. His work is housed in many of the finest public collections in the country and is also included in numerous prestigious private collections.
