C. Brad Kessler

Kessler Alair Insurance Services has always been a part of Brad Kessler's life since it was established by his father and uncle, and is one of his true passions.

Brad was born and raised in Southern California and graduated from Claremont High School in 1973. An avid athlete, he was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds professional baseball team in the first round of the June 1973 draft. He was also recruited to play college football by most major universities in the U.S.A. including Notre Dame, Stanford, UCLA, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Washington.

When he wanted to marry, Lori Drury, he decided that baseball was not compatible to family life, left baseball and has devoted his life to his real passion, helping all families live well. Since that time the husband and father to six adult children and seven grandchildren (and counting) has enjoyed working in the insurance industry and being surrounded by a team dedicated to providing clients a measure of peace, should they find themselves in a challenging situation.

Brad served for 4 years on the Presidents Council for Safeco Insurance Company and is a six-year recipient of Safeco’s “Award of Excellence”.

In addition to his efforts at the Upland insurance agency, he enjoys serving the Inland Empire community in many capacities. He has served his church in regular capacity since 1976, particularly enjoying working with youth. He has also spent many years coaching baseball in Little League, Pony League and as assistant varsity coach at Claremont High School.

Above all else, he loves the opportunity to spend time with his family and the opportunity to help others enjoy their families as well.

Sandra Roberts

For Kessler Alair Insurance Services Vice President, Sandy Roberts, working with Southern California residents in meeting their insurance needs is not just a job; it is part of her heritage. She began her journey in the field in 1977 at Hammer Insurance, an agency her father founded in 1949. Sandy merged her agency, Hammer Insurance, with Pittenger Alair in 1991 and moved to Kessler Alair in 1997 when the two agencies merged to form one of the most successful insurance agencies in the Inland Empire.

Sandy grew up in Pomona, and Claremont, California and enjoys the wonderful sense of community her associations here provide. She is a graduate of Stanford University and now lives in West Los Angeles. Having a broad knowledge of the area gives Sandy an added understanding of the needs of her clients, who often become friends in the process. In her over thirty years in the agency environment, she has had the opportunity to educate her clients about the areas they need to insure and felt deep satisfaction when that policy has been there to support them in times of need.

In addition to her work at Kessler Alair, Sandy enjoys gardening, traveling, music and theater. However, her number one passion is spending time with her son and wonderful granddaughter.

C. Michael Kessler

Working at Kessler Alair Insurance Services was a clear choice for Account Executive Charles Michael Kessler, who was born and raised in Southern California. Not only does working at the Upland, California insurance agency provide the opportunity to work within the community where he was raised, but with his own family.

Charles, who goes by Michael, was drawn to the insurance industry because of the unique opportunity it provides in working closely with clients and providing expertise on a product that is respectable and is of huge benefit and comfort in times of devastation or great loss. His special experience within the company is with personal lines of insurance, which include Homeowners Insurance, Auto Insurance, Umbrella Insurance, Motorcycle Insurance, Watercraft Insurance, Renters Insurance, Vacant Dwelling insurance, Condo Insurance, Specialty Dwelling Insurance, Dwelling Fire Insurance and more. While it is always his first hope that clients not experience the consequences of accidents and disasters, he enjoys bringing them peace of mind and help in restoration.

He began his career with Kessler Alair Insurance in 1999 working part time while in school at Claremont High School, where he was very active in sports. In 1999 at age 14, he participated on the La Verne Junior League All-Star Baseball team that went on to represent the United States West team in the Junior League World Series.

Following a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Brazil, where he learned to speak Portuguese fluently, he returned to Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah. It is here that he met his wife Rachel and completed his Bachelor of Arts in American Studies. After graduation he returned to the Upland, California insurance company fulltime.

Today, when he is not helping clients throughout the Inland Empire meet their insurance needs, he enjoys time with his wife and remaining very active in various athletic activities.

Carrie Adams

Carrie Adams has dedicated her career to working within the insurance industry, starting as a receptionist soon after graduating high school. After working at several agencies looking for the agency that she could truly call "home", the Kessler Alair employees in her acquaintance mentioned how happy they were at the Upland, California insurance agency and suggested she make the move. In 2005, she made Kessler Alair her home and the employees a part of her extended family.

Carrie, who is a Property and Casualty licensed agent, specializes in Auto and Home insurance. One of the aspects of her job she finds most rewarding is the opportunity to work with clients and educate them on the coverage they need to protect their assets in the event of challenging circumstances.

When she is not working, Carrie enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Together they enjoy time at their church as well as traveling throughout Southern California camping and riding quads.

Kara Slocum

Agent Kara Slocum has been in the insurance industry for 17 years and with Kessler Alair Insurance Services for over five years. In that time, she has helped countless clients find affordable insurance options and the peace of mind that protection offers, efficiently and compassionately.

As an Inland Empire native, she enjoys the opportunity to bring her expertise to Kessler Alair and serving people in her own community. She, her husband Chris and two boys, Dominic and Jacob, are very involved in the community through Boy Scouts of America and many other activities. In a time when commuting long distances is common, living and working in the Upland area is a unique opportunity that Kara does not take for granted. Having similar concerns and experiences and the bond that community creates is the foundation of her passion for her work.

Leslie Hayes

For Leslie Drury Hayes, working in insurance is the best job in the world, with daily opportunity to meet new people and provide clients with the best product at the most affordable prices. Since Kessler Alair Insurance Services recruited her in 1988, she has brought her unquenchable enthusiasm, thoughtful attention and deep compassion to each day at the Upland, California insurance agency.

Leslie, who is a Southern California native, has lived her entire life in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties including the cities of La Verne, Alta Loma, Ontario and Fontana. The Inland Empire is her home, and Leslie is passionate about delivering the right products for the right needs so that residents can live and work with a confidence knowing that their needs are covered. She specializes in writing many lines of insurance including Auto, Homeowners, Life, Mexico, and of special importance to those living in California, Earthquake Insurance.

During her off hours, Leslie's number one joy is her husband and four incredible children, which keep her quite busy. The family also includes their white lab, Purdy, a Guinea pig, Nutter Butter and Strip the snake, which her son caught in the front yard 6 years ago. Together she and her family enjoy sports, scouting, and the wealth of other opportunities offered in the area.

Margaret Cavazos

Margaret Cavazos has been working in the insurance industry and the Inland Empire for 25 years. Over the course of her career, she had many opportunities to speak with other Kessler Alair Insurance Services employees and realized that the agency provided a work environment that would fit her needs. When a position opened up 15 years ago, she joined the team bringing a warm attitude and extensive knowledge to the Upland California agency.

Helping the insured understand their insurance policy is Margaret's top priority. Of special interest to her is helping and serving the Hispanic community. Being bilingual helps her serve the community with pride and assure that every client leaves the office with the peace of mind that they have an agent they can trust and will be there when needed.

When Margaret is away from the office, she loves to spend time with her husband and shopping at Victoria Gardens with her young daughter.

Sue Jahnsen, CISR

Sue Jahnsen, Account Executive, was on a completely different professional track when she found Kessler Alair. After earning her Juris Doctorate 1995, she was in the middle of studying for the bar exam, when she found she needed a break. Having always been interested in the insurance industry, she came to the Upland, California agency sixteen years ago and never looked back.

Specializing in Personal Lines of insurance such as Auto, Home, Motorcycle, Mobile Homes, Motor Homes, Classic Auto, Umbrella, Renters, Landlord, and Dwelling Fire, Sue loves providing comprehensive insurance options to Inland Empire residents as well as residents throughout Southern California. Insurance can be a complicated thing, and Sue loves to help clients unravel they mysteries and walk away informed and confident in their decisions.

Born in Ohio, Sue moved to Claremont, California as a toddler and has live in the Inland Empire ever since. She attended Claremont High School where her natural enthusiasm was employed as Mascot from 1971 to 1973. Today the diehard USC fan continues to cheer on local residents and support her community through her various involvements.

Christina M. Ades, CIC

Certified Insurance Counselor Christina Ades has been a valuable part of the team at Kessler Alair Insurance Services since 1988. After starting in the accounting department, she made the move to selling and servicing insurance very quickly, wanting to work more closely with clients. By 1995 she became part owner of the Upland, California company.

The insurance industry is always changing and Christina enjoys following all of the intricacies of the industry in order to meet the needs of clients at all stages of their lives most effectively. Many times, she finds, clients are not aware of the insurance products that are available, and providing affordable insurance options is rewarding. She currently focuses much of her efforts in working with business owners. Having earned her BA in Business Administration, her skills in educating business owners in regards to proper coverage amounts as well as contract reading and advice in risk management cannot be surpassed. Christina’s clients look to her as a partner in improving their business not just an insurance salesperson.

Christina, who is a Southern California native, is also very active outside the office. When she is not working, she, along with her husband, is a busy parent to two wonderful children. In addition to being a Girl Scout Leader, she enjoys many outdoor activities.

Dennis Ferguson has been with Kessler Alair Insurance Services since 1986 where he has enjoyed working with clients to customize a plan to protect their business and personal assets. Realizing that businesses are challenged by the complexities of being in the competitive California marketplace, he serves clients by helping them stay relevant to the changing economy.

Holding a degree from Pepperdine as well as having earned both the CIC and CRM designations, Dennis brings knowledge, passion, and dedication to the Upland insurance agency's team.

Dennis, who is a native of Southern California, was born in Redlands, spending growing up years in La Habra and San Bernardino. When he is not spending time supporting KAIS clients, he enjoys time with his wife and three children, working in the yard, and attending area events. Outside of his passion for work and family, he enjoys spending time on the golf course.

New to Kessler Alair Insurance Services in 2011, Carol Bush brings a tremendous amount of expertise to the Upland, California agency. With 4 years of experience in Personal Lines and more than 9 years in Commercial Lines, she has three professional designations including: Certified Insurance Counselor, Certified Insurance Service Representative, and Management Liability Specialist.

Carol, who was born in Redlands, California, has lived in the Yucaipa and Mentone area her entire life. Living and working in the area gives her a special understanding of the needs of the clients and a passion to see that the needs of her community are met.

In her off time, Carol enjoys time with her husband, three children, Son-in-law and new grandson. She and her family enjoy hiking, sports, and tackling home improvement projects. Never one to stay idle, she was a professional quilter when her children were young, and tries to fit more of that in when she can find a quiet moment.

Family life is very important to Carol, and the family atmosphere at Kessler Alair makes it a perfect home.

Mary Strohman has been working with the Kessler Alair family for 26 years. Mary’s experience in the insurance industry started many years ago when a friend from high school told her of a job opening at a nearby agency in Upland.

Mary joined the Kessler Alair team in 1987 and works in our commercial lines department. When asked what her best on-the-job attribute is, Mary replied, “Servicing the customers! In this economy insurance is tough, so I try to have compassion and understanding for each of my customers.”

Mary has been married to her high school sweetheart for 28 years. Mary and her husband, Scott, have raised 4 beautiful children, two boys, ages 27 years and 24 years, and twin girls, that are 23 years old.

Mike Donaldson

Michael Donaldson has worked in the Southern California financial and insurance industry since 2004 and came to Kessler Alair Insurance Services in 2008. Always having had an interest in business and finance, this line of work allows him to directly work with a variety of individuals, helping them grow and protect the businesses and financial positions that they have worked so hard to develop. Michael finds it extremely satisfying to help Inland Empire residents achieve their goals in a field where he demonstrates both knowledge and passion. His special area of focus includes individual and Group/Company Health, Dental, Life, & Disability Insurance.

One of the most satisfying aspects of his job is being able to help employers meet the needs of a diverse group of employees by providing reasonable coverage to protect their respective families and workforce, in a price competitive way.

Michael, fluent in both Spanish and English, spent 2 years serving as a religious missionary teaching in both languages. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, three children as well as staying involved in church and community events.

He loves the feeling of community demonstrated by individuals in the local area and stays connected by actively participating in local community events, especially through his role as an Ambassador for the Upland Chamber of Commerce and various youth programs through his local church.

Working to resolve billing issues and pushing for approval on life changing surgeries is all in a day's work for Christine Zook who works in Kessler Alair Insurance Services Benefits Department.

Christine, a Southern California native, started work with a small insurance agency right out of high school, answering phones and processing mail. It was a job she found much more interesting than the one she held during high school— serving pizza in a Chuck E. Cheese costume! After she became a licensed agent, she applied her knowledge within the mortgage industry and later, after the birth of her third child, at Kessler Alair. Since coming to the Upland, California insurance agency in 2001, she has worked diligently within the benefits department on behalf of the clients.

Working within the insurance industry is very rewarding for Christine who enjoys the personal element of her job. While the relationships with clients are of a professional nature, she feels that as a Kessler Alair employee she has the opportunity to become part of a large team of people that are always standing behind the client.

When she is not working, Christine enjoys time with her husband of 18 years and doing crafts with her three active children.

Rose Stevens

Rose Stevens came to Kessler Alair Insurance Services having been drawn to the agency's reputation for excellence and friendly atmosphere. Specializing in Personal Lines of insurance including such products as Home and Auto Insurance, Rose strives to educate clients on the most comprehensive and affordable insurance options available to them.

When Rose and her husband are not traveling in their Motor Coach, she is out riding on their Harley, in their Classic Cars, or spending time with her two granddaughters. Rose's favorite area of insurance is promoting Motorcycle and Classic Car Insurance. As an enthusiast, she intimately understands the needs of her clients.

Born and raised in Southern California, Rose loves all that the Inland Empire has to offer. In her spare time, Rose enjoys attending car & cycle shows and racing events, which are frequent and plentiful in the Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Sharon Rachielles

Demonstrating her long-term passion and commitment for the field, Kessler Alair Insurance Services Customer Service Representative, Sharon Rachielles has been working in the insurance industry off and on since she began as a receptionist at an insurance agency in Memphis, TN in 1968.

Sharon, who specializes in personal lines of insurance that include home and auto among many others, has been with this Upland insurance agency since 1994. She attributes her dedication to the pleasure she finds in the customer service aspect of her work. She enjoys the exciting and diverse people in the Inland Empire and their equally diverse insurance needs, in everything from classic cars to watercraft.

When she is not working, Sharon enjoys spending time with her family. She is an admitted Bunco Queen and belongs to two Bunco groups. She is also very active in the Uplanders Club, a non-profit organization that fosters friendship through social activities and community service.

Maricela Caraway

Controller and HR Director at Kessler Alair Insurance Services, Maricela Caraway has been with the Upland, California insurance agency for 27 years. She feels that her own experience of working with Kessler Alair exemplifies the spirit of the agency.

Maricela came to the company as a part time file clerk in 1985 and worked through the ranks to Controller and HR Director. It is the agency's strong foundational belief, in creating opportunity and supporting the family life of each employee that is a large part of why she has devoted her career to Kessler Alair. The agency proved its commitment to supporting her role as a mother when, after the birth of her third child 13 years ago, she was able to move her office to her home.

Chris Allred

Over eight years ago, when Chris Allred was looking for a work environment that offered a great sense of community, he found it at Kessler Alair Insurance Services. Chris originally filled the position as CSR when, after a few years, the opportunity arose to be the office technician. Always having a strong interest in working with computers, Chris finds addressing computer issues and helping the Upland insurance agency run efficiently is rewarding.

Chris, who is an Inland Empire resident, enjoys all that the community offers, especially sports and outdoor activities. Having grown up in a military family gave him the opportunity to live all over the nation, but chose the Inland Empire to settle his family because of the many opportunities offered in Southern California. For Chris, the most notable advantages of living in the area is the close proximity and easy accessibility to both work and play—in about an hour you can be in either the mountains, desert or beaches. Along with his wife and four children, he enjoys activities such as hiking, biking, fly-fishing, and camping throughout the area.

Catherine Dalton

Licensed insurance agent Catherine Dalton has been with Kessler Alair Insurance Services since 1992. Starting as a receptionist, she has had the opportunity to serve the Upland insurance agency in several capacities.

In the early 90's, Kessler Alair President, Brad Kessler, saw in Catherine an interest and ability in marketing and presented her with what was then a very progressive work arrangement, allowing her to telecommute much of the time.

Since that time, Kessler Alair has provided an environment where her skills can be used on behalf of the company as well as honoring her role as mother and never demanding that she take time away from her family to share those skills.

Catherine, who was born and raised in Upland, California, stays active in the Inland Empire with her husband and four children. Together they enjoy the beautiful Southern California weather and outdoor activities such as scuba diving, riding quads, and windsurfing. When she is not busy with the family, she enjoys conducting a local choir.

Mary Wilson

Account Clerk Mary Wilson came to Kessler Alair Insurance Services in 1998, drawn by the Upland agency's strong commitment to both their clients and their employees. This commitment has allowed Mary to both excel in the workplace and remain a highly involved wife and mother to a very active son, without compromising either.

Mary, who has been in the insurance industry since 1982, started at another Southern California agency as a customer service representative before moving to Kessler Alair. As an account clerk, she enjoys working with many Inland Empire residents and helping them gain comprehensive knowledge of their accounts. Understanding that insurance concerns can often be overwhelming with premiums, fees and finance charges, she is always willing to spend the extra time needed with clients, treating each one with the same concern as if they are part of the family. Personal interaction with a wide range of residents is one of the most rewarding aspects of her job.

The Kessler Alair family approach not only aids in delivering a great service to Inland Empire area residents, it has also allowed Mary to enjoy her husband of 30 years and time with her son who is currently serving our country in the USMC.

On her days off, Mary enjoys helping her husband restore classic cars and working in her husband's machine shop, not in accounting, but running a CNC milling machine!

Lorraine Gonzales

The cheerful voice answering the phone and staffing the front desk belongs to Receptionist Lorraine Gonzales who joined Kessler Alair in September 2011.

While new to the insurance arena, she has a decade of experience greeting people and taking time to connect them to the person who can best serve them. She chose Kessler Alair as her place of employment because of the importance it places on quality customer service. For Lorraine, this translates into everyone doing what needs to be done when it needs to be done because she knows she can go the extra mile when called upon.

As a Pomona resident since 1975, she enjoys leisurely breakfasts and 60’s music with friends she has known for over 20 years. When she has an evening alone you’ll usually find her curled up with a book or watching a classic movie

Natalie Nielsen

Natalie Nielsen, a Customer Service Representative with Kessler Alair since October 2011, enjoys expanding her knowledge of the insurance field to include multiple carriers that offer a variety of benefits to her clients.

Originally from San Diego, she and her husband are excited to return to live and work in Southern California after several years in Hawaii. When she is not working, Natalie holds her own in pick-up basketball games with her husband and his friends. She is also training for her first half-marathon in June in Fontana and is looking forward to reconnecting with old friends and making new ones in the Inland Empire.

Alex Martinez has 16 years of dedicated insurance industry experience. Since beginning her career as a receptionist, she has filled many positions such as office manager, commercial CSR, and personal CSR.

As a Personal Lines Customer Service Representative for Kessler Alair, Alex enjoys the satisfaction of educating clients on what coverage they need and developing a relationship of trust. Having been raised in El Paso, Texas, she has a special passion for helping the Hispanic community get educated on insurance products and help them protect their assets.

An early exposure to business and the opportunity to serve as president for Business Professionals of America in high school has led to a lifelong love of community and for business. At Kessler Alair, that passion is translated into providing clients with a compassionate ear and a dedication in seeing their lives bettered in every way possible.

In her free time, you will find Alex at various community meetings throughout the Inland Empire, working in the children's ministry at church, and taking road trips with her husband.

Cristina Venegas

Cristina Venegas found her passion when she began working in the insurance industry in the area of customer service. While the position comes with many exciting facets, the most rewarding for her is knowing the security the insurance industry provides individuals in protecting their most valuable assets. Cristina, who has earned a bachelors of Science degree from the University of Phoenix, is bilingual in English and Spanish, and especially enjoys using her skills to benefit those in the Hispanic community within the Inland Empire.

Customer service is the perfect fit for Cristina, who makes a purposeful effort in connecting with clients and understanding their true needs. Compassion is at the heart of all of her efforts and thoroughly enjoys working in the family oriented Kessler Alair Agency.

While not at work, you will find Cristina enjoying time with her number one priority, family. Family is the center of her life and her own family and life experiences drive her passion both professionally and personally. After the death of her father soon after a diagnosis of having Diabetes, she became an active member of the American Diabetes Association and a huge advocate for diabetes awareness and education.

Dan Cavazos

David Foote

While David is relatively new to the insurance industry, you would never know from his tenacious spirit and level of knowledge, making it his mission to know every aspect of the industry. Believing that every person deserves the advantage of having and understanding their options, he enjoys educating customers and developing the best insurance strategy to protect their assets.

He was led to Kessler Alair because he found that the company values of people and family first aligned with his. This has allowed him to enjoy building friendships and relationships through interaction while improving the lives of the people he serves.

At its’ core, insurance is about people and relationships by preserving a way of life should an unplanned and unfortunate event occur. Understanding the many facets of an individual's life takes time, insight, and compassion— all things David excels at providing. A BYU graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and captain of the BYU football team his senior year, David has a wonderful blend of leadership skills and business knowledge on which clients can confidently rely.

When not hard at work, David is hard at play enjoying the outdoors with his family. Fluent in Spanish, David is currently learning Portuguese in honor of his wife, Giuliana, who is from Brazil.
